When the stresses and strains of life seem to be building up, a person may experience an imbalance within themselves. This could lead to feelings of unrest, confusion, being uncomfortable, and might even contribute to the onset of certain health conditions. Many people have found that Reiki therapy can be extremely helpful in resetting one's energies and promoting healing.

The name for this holistic treatment is made from two Japanese words which mean "universal life force energy". This central force is said to reside inside every individual, typically dispersed and balanced through seven concentrated points of power called chakras. Negativity and undesirable conditions may start to manifest when any of these areas becomes blocked or clouded.

Quite frequently a person first notices this imbalance by the appearance of emotions such as undue stress, irrational anger, nervousness or uneasiness that they can not really justify. Physical ailments like headaches, digestive issues, aches and heartburn may also manifest. This non-invasive and all natural technique can help an individual feel better and more balanced.

The basic concept is that the therapist has the ability to redirect the client's energy force, or to transfer some of their own into the individual, in order to balance the chakras. This transference is done through a technique where the practitioner holds their hands slightly above the body of the patient, using this near contact as the conduit. Very rarely is actual physical contact necessary.

The treatment is full based in spirituality, being natural and completely safe, simply revolving around the rearranging of energies for the purpose of better health and well being. There is absolutely no religion involves, no particular belief system required and no dogma one must follow for positive results. Healing may be achieved with no regard to one's own theological practices.

Healing of one's issues does not happen immediately, though one may find themselves feeling considerably more relaxed after one session. The effects are subtle at first, building as the good forces expels the bad and the balance is restored within one's body. The therapist uses their power to pull out blockages and deposit positive energy.

People have used this type of care to address a number of personal issues on both the physical and emotional levels. It has been effective at helping individuals feel less anxious, stressed or tense, and to feel more confident, relaxed and energetic. Some have even chosen to take this route to lowering their blood pressure, stop smoking and other addictions, alleviate headaches, remove toxins, soothe feelings of nausea and the effects of heartburn.
