Italian cuisine has developed since in history. Its development occurred during the discovery of some of its ingredient such as potatoes, bell peppers, tomatoes, and maize. Today, these ingredients became central objects in these types of cuisines. The Italian cuisines have been very popular because of its taste and diversity. And this is now being considered widely as the most famous type of cuisine. This is also characterized because it is simple, in a way that a number of only 4 up to ingredients are used in some dishes.

Most Italian chefs focus more on the quality of an ingredient rather than relying on the elaboration of preparation. The dishes may vary on different regions. Many dishes in one region have already been made with different variations in many different countries. Wine and cheese, not only in their own country but also for Italian catering Houston are two major parts of these cuisines. And another important variety is their coffee, specifically the espresso.

This type of cuisine has many ingredient types involved which are being used. It includes fruit, vegetables, sauces, meat, etc. Somewhere in the Northern part in the country, baccala or cod fishes, corn or maize, sausages, potatoes, pork, and other type of cheeses are very popular ingredients. Pasta with tomato sauce is another kind of popular dish.

In Northern part, aside from the many types of stuffed pastas, other popular pastas are the polenta and the risotto. Lingurian ingredient is also being used which includes some types of fishes and seafoods, basil, olive oil, and nuts. In one region of the Northern part, some common ingredients are ham, sausages, truffles, different salami sorts, grana, tomatoes, and parmesan cheese.

In Central parts, the ingredients would include tomatoes, any types of meat, fish, and pecorino cheese. Usually, the Tuscany pasta is being served with meat sauce. Lastly, in Southern parts, other components in the cuisines would include tomatoes which are either cooked as sauce or is fresh, olive oil, artichokes, ricotta cheese, zucchini, capers, olives, peppers, garlic, oranges, eggplants, and other kinds of fishes like anchovies, sardines, and tuna.

The Italian cuisine can be best known as diverse when it comes to pasta variations. This would include different width, shape, and length of noodles. Other varieties are linguine, spaghetti, maccheroni, lasagna, fusilli, penne, and other varieties which are filled with ravioli or with tortellini. Pastas are usually topped with sauce.

The two categories for the pastas are either fresh or dried. The dried pasta often is made without eggs. Most often, it is produced from durum wheat flours or durum wheat semolina, and this may be stored in a fridge up to two years. The fresh pasta may only be kept for a few days.

The durum flour and the durum semolina have yellow tinge color. A pasta is usually cooked in boiling water and it must be cooked not too soft. Outside the country like in Houston, TX, a dry pasta is often made with a different type of flour, but it still can be cooked not too soft.

Some variations of the pastas are made from kinds of grain and milling methods when making flours. Pizzoccheri is made of buckwheat flours. Pastas that are produced from a whole wheat are popular for its healthy benefits than those produced from refined flour.
