The Yorkshire is among the most iconic dogs around. It is easily recognizable because of its long, straight, silky, black, grey, and tan coat. However, its not all about physicality. The Yorkie is a small dog breed. At most, it weighs merely seven pounds. It is certifiably one of the most famous dog breeds the whole world over, with its sweet disposition and attractive landmark black, tan, and grey coat.

Needless to say, this should not be the case. Many people before now have become disenchanted with dog parenting by the mere fact that Fido is just too much for them, that which is phrased in such a way as if it is the dogs fault and not their own. It goes without saying that its a hornbook principle of the dog owners manual that persons should consider their lifestyle and pick the right hound according to it.

Getting back to Yorkies, it is worth noting that they have this particularly neurotic need to have a daily dose of interaction with people. They are the type to revel in attention in love. Also, due to their diminutive size, they can be particularly wary or timid around other dogs. It goes without saying that if you already have a large, adult dog, you are going to have to go through intense, hump busting efforts to get your dogs not to be aggressive to each other.

Of course, you should not be so selfless to the point that you are only taking into account your dogs well being. See to your needs as well. For example, if you are allergic or asthmatic, it would do you good to know that the Yorkshire Terrier, with its fine, silky coat is often established by fact books as hypoallergenic. This piece of info may come across as tosh for you. After all, it is the dogs dander and saliva which triggers allergic reactions. Nonetheless, it is still a plus point in the Yorkies regard when we not that they do not shed as much as other dogs.

Theyre easy and breezy to train and are not very demanding. Also, they thrive in a loving home environment. They shed lightly and are peaceful mutts when properly trained. They are compact and toy sized, which makes them not a pain to traverse around.

Yorkies have a high level of general intelligence and, in that regard, they are rather easy to train. Of course, individuality is also a thing with dogs but still, statistics do no lie. You will also have to curb their impossible energy level and intensity. Take them to long walks and keep them mentally occupied with toys and games. Their exercise needs since their wanderlust potential makes up quite a lot of exercise by itself. However, they also need physical stimulation, and stretch their limbs out and about.

Also, they may be pretty high maintenance if you are out to live up to the signature Yorkie hairdo, with all its smoothness and silkiness. In some cases, they even have to be groomed professionally. Theyre also especially fragile, given their diminutive size and spindly legs. Therefore, theyre easily injured when accidentally trod upon, handled roughly, or dropped accidentally. Thats why they can be not so amenable for young children, who are mostly and constantly liable to get rough in play. Accordingly, the Yorkies reactions may spell detriments to both dog and child. Lastly, Yorkies can be quite difficult to housetrain. That is because they are pretty much sensitive to the elements, and they may prefer the security of your hall or porch to the drizzle outside. This is why quit a lot of effort goes to housetraining them.

However, what makes Yorkies remarkable are their affectionate and lovable nature. They are the type to love cuddles and have a tendency to be laid back. They are also amenable to apartment dwellers, since they have a high degree of adaptability. They are also portable due to their small size and are therefore amenable to traveling. They suit all kinds of homes, may they be concrete blocks in the city or wide open fields out in the country. The good points of the Yorkshire are many and sundry, indeed. But the considering owner should also make sure that these points mesh well with his or her own.
