Fundraising Through A Golf Tournament

By Bill Poter

Maybe you are thinking about hosting a charity golf tournament or a fundraising golf tournament for you or a company. Do not go into this all by yourself. There are lots of ways to make the most out of your tournament. At Kingdom.golf we know what you need to take your tournament to the next level. We have expert fundraising analysis that will point you in the right direction from the very start. Do not get ahead of yourself when hosting a golf tournament.

Every tournament is different, yet in a sense, they are all the same. We start off by seeing whether you are holding a charity event or a corporate event. Then we go through the diagnostics and see what is possible to make with this event. After that is completed we go into the fundraising. This is the part where some people will get scarred and start to think that maybe it just is not possible. Well, we are here to tell you that it is possible. Just take the time to do it right the first time! That is with all things in life, is it not?

The way in which we approach a golf charity or corporation conducting a golf charity event, is to engage with the organization with a golf tournament feasibility study and diagnostic evaluation. Through this diagnostic, we determine if a golf event is do-able, or, if not, what might be the best fundraising event to conduct first and whether a charity golf tournament may be the next fundraising event.

So what do we do first? We have to set in place the venue. This has to deal with where it is going to be held, what kind of drinks are going to be served, and what we are going to eat. This is all up to you, but I will have the final say because I do this for a living and you don't. This does not really have to do so much with golfing 'stuff' as it does with everything that goes along with golfing! Not very complicated is it? That is what I always say! Thanks for your help!

The goal of this whole thing is to let the golfers have the time of their lives. If someone comes in there and he is wearing a wedding band, but is trying to party that night. Let him for crying out loud. Golf spells fun in my book. Let them have the time of their lives and they will be dying to come back next year.

The golf part of the business is the fun part and we recommend to all of our clients that the best possible experience be provided for all of the players participating in their golf charity event, this is what encourages them to play in your event the next year!

If we know the golfers are going to have the time of their lives, then we know they will want to come back. That is about as easy as it gets. Don't make this thing complicated because that is the furthest thing away from what this is. If you want to do it right, call a guy that does this for a living and not Joe, your neighborhood golfer.

Do not mess your tournament up by letting the wrong people run it. At Kingdom.golf we are the experts and you are not the experts. If you have an idea that is worth while, we may use it. But if it goes against what is on my agenda then we will not let you use it, ever! That is the reason I chose to do this for a living and you did not!
