Using A Quilting Blog As A Learning Tool

By Patty Goff

Taking time to enjoy the creative part of ones personality offers a sense of personal satisfaction. Whether you like working with clay, knitting or painting, expressing yourself through this media can be a very relaxing activity. Enjoying a Quilting Blog can provide information on your craft, enhance your current skill level and allow the creative juices to flow.

This is a great way to build new relationships and enjoy others who share the same interests. It also provides a great opportunity for everyone to share their experiences so that others can learn from them. The creative juices often flow smoother when engaged with others who share ideas and offer advice on new techniques.

Centuries ago, it was not uncommon to meet in groups to share and discuss a common interest. Women would share a new knitting technique, or a new recipe among her friends. It was a time to enjoy each others company while sharing a common craft. This provided good conversation, laughter and excitement over learning something new, all of which fostered friendships.

Now days, in the time of computers and Syping, people now have found their own way of communicating and sharing their creations. This is a wonderful new way of following someone that you may admire. Many have chosen this avenue in sharing everything from their views on politics to learning a new craft, to educating others about their world experiences.

Blogging is the same way. Following someone who is good at what they do and writes about it on a daily basis offers that information to anyone who is interested. You also have the opportunity to leave messages, ask questions and get advice as the writers enjoy engaging with their followers.

This provides a level of communication as well. Although it is not up close and personal like a friendship would offer, it does provide the opportunity to exchange ideas and discuss the subject at hand. Asking questions and providing feedback is something all bloggers enjoy. They welcome all comments and questions because it shows that what they are doing is of great interest to others.

Taking notes and keeping a journal is a great idea for those who are serious about their craft. Blogs can always be reviewed in the future but having a notebook available for a quick reference is helpful.

We are living in a time where opportunities to learn and grow is easier than ever. Online classes allow people to get their education without ever leaving home. With all the obligations we have these days, there seems to be very little time for the things we really enjoy doing. Most of us are so busy with our careers, family and home, there just doesn't ever seem to be enough time to do anything else. But finding a good blogger that shares a strong interest can be an easy and convenient way to learn a new skill or enhance one that you already have without having to take time away from home.
