A New Pet From Breeders Of Cavachon Puppies

By Marci Nielsen

Mixed breed dogs can be wonderful pets. Breed one Cavalier King Charles Spaniel and one Bichon Frise together and the result if a litter of Cavachon puppies. The puppies are a hybrid and not considered pure bred. Despite the fact that their ancestry consists of two pure bred dogs, the parents were not of the same breed. Subsequent generations of Cavachons will continue to be classified as hybrid.

This mixed breed was designed to produce dogs that are hypo allergenic, are of a certain size and are light shedders. At sixteen to twenty five pounds, the males tend to be a little larger than the females, who are generally twelve to twenty pounds. Although peach and white are the most common coat colors, they may have two colors, such as black and white, or be tri colored.

Cavachons are friendly, good natured pets. They are currently very popular with families as they tolerate children well. They make intelligent pets who will bark at unidentified noises and people. They are not aggressive towards people, and their bark is only a warning bark to alert the owner that there is something out of the ordinary. Do not count on your Cavashon to be a watchdog. This is not in their nature.

This mixed breed tends to be sturdy and usually has few health problems. On occasion a Cavachon may develop mitral valve disease if the dog inherited the weakness from the Cavalier King Charles Spaniel ancestor. This is very serious, so it is wise to inquire about the parentage of your pet. Further, it makes sense to keep in touch with the breeder in case the Cavalier parent develops this disease later in life.

The Bichon Frise part of the ancestry may be prone to diseases of the immune system. Be sure to ask these specific questions of the breeder to ensure the long life of your new pet. Under normal conditions, your Cavachon should live sixteen to twenty years. But a compromised immune system can drastically shorten the life of your pet.

Breeders in Kent Oh are aware of the history of the mixed breed and are careful to produce puppies with a good chance of long healthy lives. These breeders believe that it is their responsibility to help prepare the puppy for his or her new home. They train the dogs to sleep through the night for six to seven hours. New dog owners may not know that having a new puppy can sometime make the owner as sleep deprived as having a new baby. Seasoned pet owners will deeply appreciate this extra training by the breeders.

Crate training litters is an effective way of getting them to sleep through the night. If you have ever had a new puppy in the house, you know that the experience can make you very sleep deprived. Housebreaking can also cause some issues. It is great to work with breeders who give your pet a head start on both of these challenges.

These dogs make loving, caring pets that you and your family will cherish for many years. Not all breeders are created equal, so choosing a conscientious breeder is essential to the happy life you hope to share with your furry friend. It is not long before new owners realize their puppy is an important addition to the family,
